Could it be more perfect that the world’s largest gold nugget lives at The Golden Nugget in Las Vegas?
The nugget is called “The Hand of Faith”, and although it is not the largest nugget ever found, it is the biggest in existence, and the biggest ever found with a metal detector.
The Hand of Faith, weighing 61 pounds, was found by Kevin Hillier in 1980, in Wedderburn in Australia (yay Australia!)
He sold it to The Golden Nugget Casino for over a million dollars.
It now lives, in a super fancy display case, in the lobby of The Golden Nugget….or rather, a replica of it does.
Apparently The Golden Nugget must have had concerns that someone would try and sneak a 61 pound golden nugget out of their front door, so they had a replica made for display purposes.
To find the (fake) golden nugget, head towards the hallway that leads to the steak house, and look for the big gold lump in the red velvet case.
