Trader Mort’s liquor store, at the edge of Shelter Island, has been a personality drenched San Diego fixture since 1964.
The vintage tiki exotica is evident everywhere, from the tiki torches, tropical garden and giant carved tiki in the carpark, to the tiki artifacts, masks and tiki mugs that greet you in store.
It’s not often we recommend a store specializing in beer and live worms for fishing, but this is a kooky, fun, tiki filled must see. We even bought a Trader Mort’s tiki mug while we were here.
