The tikitastic Royal Hawaiian Estates is a vintage residential complex in Palm Springs.
It has 40 homes spread across 5 acres and was designed by Wexler and Harrison in 1960.
This is private property, so please don’t trespass, but many of the stunning highlights of the Royal Hawaiian can be seen from the street.
These include decorative rock walls, mid-century Polynesian style architecture, tiki style apexes, and the unique “Flying sevens” decorative details.
The Royal Hawaiian Estates were named a residential historic district in 2010.
We were lucky enough to get a look inside at a modernism week event - if you get the chance to go on one of their home tours, do it!
