When Quentin Tarantino was filming “Once Upon A Time in Hollywood”, his amazing art department dressed an entire tretch of Hollywood Boulevard to look like the Hollywood Boulevard of 1969. It was kind of incredible. Although most of it was removed, these murals, located near the back entrance to Musso and Frank, still remain.
The murals recreate the art work of Elaine Hanelock (sometimes spelled Havelock) who created a series of psychedelia meets vintage movie stars posters in the late 1960’s. These ranged from Clark Gable to Clara Bow and John Barrymore. They are all fabulous.
The “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” murals depict Charlie Chaplin, WC Fields, and Mae West.
Super adorable and worth a look.
