Giant Shoe

The giant shoe is a 30 foot long, 20-foot-high plaster and wood building in the shape of a giant shoe.

It was built in 1947, and still houses a shoe repair store currently known as Big Shoe Shoe Repair.

The giant shoe, which is white, has black laces made of black rope.

we LOVE programmatic or novelty architecture and the giant shoe is a great example.

Inside the shoe you’ll find a small shopfront, shelves holding repaired shoes, and brilliantly, a restroom in the shoe’s heel.
