Your night at Dan Tana’s starts before you even get to the door - the anticipation button is switched on as soon as you walk under their iconic green neon sign and spot the adorable yellow bungalow you are about to enter.
We loved our night at Dan Tanas and were made to feel like old friends from the moment we walked through the deliciously garlic scented door.
We started with a pre-dinner martini at the bar, which is an excellent vantage point to take in all of the restaurant, glorious bar, and the odd celebrity.
I doubt much has changed since Dan Tana opened his doors in 1964, except perhaps his collection of empty chianti bottles hanging from the rafters wasn’t quite so enormous then.
Dan Tanas is everything you want an old school Italian restaurant to be - cheeky old school waiters, red and white checkered tablecloths, sumptuous red leather booths, excellent martinis, the aforementioned chianti bottles hanging from the rafters, and a side of pasta with every meal.
Make sure you are HUNGRY when you come, because the food is BIG
Pro tip: order the Caesar salad - it’s made right at your table for added old school glamour - salut!
