The Bob Baker Marionette Theatre is one of our favorite places in. the. world.
Not only have we adopted a BB marionette (the yellow tap dancer), but we have been known to celebrate a birthday or two here as well.
Founded in 1963, the BBMT was named an official Los Angeles historic Cultural Monument in 2009.
Although essentially a children's theatre, we have seen puh-lenty of childless adults in the audience each time we visit this little jewel box theatre in Highland Park.
Every show features dozens of ahhhh-dorable vintage marionettes, vintage music, puppet choreography for days, and a jaunty sing-along with the in-house organist.
AND there will be ICE CREAM at the end.
