Belmont Park

Belmont Park is a vintage amusement park by the ocean boardwalk of Mission Beach in San Diego. It opened in 1925, and its most iconic attraction is the Giant Dipper wooden Rollercoaster. The Giant Dipper is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The park is also home to the beautiful Liberty Carousel. (I want to ride on the ostrich!)

Belmont Park, and nearby parking are both free to enter, and you can either buy a day pass to ride as many attractions as you like, or single tickets and pay as you go.

Honestly, if you’re over the age of 10, The Giant Dipper is probably the only attraction you’ll want to ride, and maybe a quick round of the tiki themed mini golf.

All the other park attractions were added in the early 2000’s and are fairground type rides for smaller people, with names like Flip Out, Krazy Kars, Mic Drop, and Crazy Submarine. (Why is everything so crazy!?)

In addition to the rides there are also games of skill, and carnival food for days - Did someone say Hot Dog on a Stick!?

Don’t forget to spend some time strolling along the actual beach when you visit -oh we do like to be beside the seaside.
